RE: Memory Help
Hi umpp101,
1) Yes, it is highly recommended that you get the same identical memory module.
2) Yes, you can replace your 1GB to 4GB memory module. Beforehand, refer to your motherboard manual to check on its memory capabilities.

Hope this helps. Smile
Pardon me for my english.

RE: Memory Help
Also check your version of windows. If you have a 32bit version, then it can only access between 3 and 4 Gb. (depending on how much ram you have installed on your graphics card and other devices). You can install more memory than that, but windows won't actually use it.

RE: Memory Help
hey .. Smile
you can install another ( 1GB) memory card no matter the kind , and you well have totaly (2GBx2)Wink
but you can't change the cards to (4GBx1 ) or (2GBx2)
cuz you may need to change the motherboard series .. to one it can accept a (4GBx1 ) then you can use the 4 GB memory like one card or two :
(4GBx1) or (2GBx2) or you can get more than 4 GB
you can use this way (4GBx2) then you well have a 8GB memory ..
Totaly :
in this way above you can't use a (8GBx2 ) to the same reason cuz the motherboard do not accept it .. and You must change the series of the motherboard to the one it could run (8GBx1) and (8GBx2)
note : some motherboards could run 3 memory cards like ( 2GBx3)

Sorry : about my ENGLISH Tongue
