Suggest the antivirus for 2010

Recently i am using McAfee and it got expired, I have AVG virus protection always on and windows XP firewall enabled. Why do I still get infected with some Trojan horses? I check for updates every day so I am sure I am up to date.Can anyone tell me the best antivirus of 2010.. There are so many on net so it made me confused and drag me here to ask in the forum..

I'm assuming you have a firewall (i.e. are either using a broadband router in addition to the windows one. If you aren't, that's your problem!).

Anyhow, assuming you have a firewall, 99.99999% of virus infections are due to:

a) Over zealous clicking of links in the dodgier areas of the internet (i.e. porn and Warez sites).
b) Downloading / Torrenting pirated software / films / games (which are virus infested).
c) Someone else is using your computer to do a or b (or both).

Make sure you:

1) Use Opera or Chrome as your web browser (DO NOT USE FIREFOX OR IE!)
2) Install an ad-blocker plugin for your web-browser.
3) Install 'No Script' or equivalent plugin for your web browser. This will prevent any nasty bits of code being run on your machine.

Both AVG and Microsoft security essentials are perfectly adequate (and free). Both of those will provide protection - up to a point. They can't guard against the way people use their computers..... (so stop downloading pron and warez, and you'll probably be fine )

I would suggest Norton anti-virus security software. Because I an using this and it can kill the virus very smoothly. So basically that can be the best anti-virus till date. Even Yahoo group use that for the mail security. So I like that.

Avast Free - (Normally use avg but kept getting a 'license expiry' warning on a free edition )

Windows Firewall - (Previously zonealarm however vista doesn't like it...)

Spybot Search & Destroy - (Honestly i swear by this program)

There are so many Anti virus available for 2010. But I suggest you to purchase Quick Heal Total Security 2010 for your computer. Because it is very nice anti virus. It is so cheap and you can purchase of three users. It is giving you total protection. No any virus can affect your computer. It is also provide the security of Firewall.

There are so many antivirus software are available on internet or if you have to purchase the licance version of that then go to the proper software shop and buy new.

- Total security

I prefer Avira antivirus for my computer. but only one thing remember that you have to update some day to day or weekly.
